Final Inspection Room in the Garments Industry

The final inspection room is also known as the ‘Final Audit room’ or ‘Inspection Room‘ where the buyer QC inspects finished products, evaluates samples, arranges pre-production meetings, and performs other buyers’ QC tasks. There is a final inspection room in every garment industry to inspect finished products. The inspection room is only for customer QC’s tasks. The inspection room is very much restricted, and controlled by the customer inspector, only very few people are allowed to assist the customer/ buyer QC inspector.

What is required in the garments inspection room? All QC inspection tools and secured place for conducting the audit. That’s all or more things required in the buyer QC inspection room, as we have mentioned below.

Final Inspection Room in the Garments Industry

Inspection Room lighting standard

For the garments industry, two types of light are best for inspection, artificial daylight (D65) is good for product inspection. And CWF light is good for shade checking, the lighting requirement is a minimum of 1000 lx. Having a lightbox in the room would fulfill the light source requirements.

Inspection Room temperature standard

A temperature and humidity controlled 20 degrees centigrade or 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Inspection Room layout

Nothing so much to discuss on the garments inspection room layout. A designated room for one customer to proceed with final inspection activities. 

Inspection Room Materials:

  1. Inspection table- A wide table of (greenish grey color) lit with the day-light type of tube lights, light quality should be enough to the tune of 1,000 lux.
  2. Necessary Approved Samples- A buyer-approved sample of the inspection lot is required.
  3. Locker for keeping necessary items
  4. Lightbox- With customer required light sources.
  5. Camera- To capture photos of defects in the garments.
  6. Quality SPO’s
  7. Measurement tape
  8. Rigid scale (Measuring scale)
  9. Quality standard
  10. Shade band standard
  11. Sitting Arrangement of buyer QC
  12. GPQ‘s working materials
  13. Computer
  14. Detailed Final Inspection Manual.
