Yarn & Dies Chemical Storage Management System in Textile Industry
The place where goods are kept is called a store or warehouse. Store refers to the activities involving the storage of goods on a large scale in a systematic and orderly manner and making them available conveniently when needed. Store means holding or preserving goods in huge quantities from the time of their purchase or production till their actual use or sale. The store supply chain department maintains a proper and up-to-date record of all material received and issued at the site. It ensures proper stocking, stacking, and preservation of material; it classifies an item according to its characteristics. Here I present the Yarn & Dies Chemical Storage Management System in the Textile Industry.
The store gives a unique code number to each item to avoid duplication and ambiguity. It reveals the excessive variety and promotes standardization and variety reduction. It helps to establish a common language for the identification of an item. Supply chain management helps to fix essential parameters for specifying an item and specifies items as per national and international standards. Textile industries have mainly four types of raw materials that the supply chain needs to manage. They are Yarn, Dies & chemicals, Fabric, trims, and accessories. Also, there is another department called planning, which follows up on the activities of finished goods flow, as there are three production units.

Yarn and Dies Chemical Storage Management System in Textile Industry:
Yarn Storage Management System and Handling Procedure
There is a separate yarn storage management system for any chemical and dies items. Safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch, proper allocation, and easy identification should be maintained by the store/ warehouse team and ERP or any other system.
Yarn Store Responsibilities are:
- Lead and guide a central store for all production units.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of the store, like a safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch.
- Ensure proper allocation and easy identification.
- Ensure goods inbound and outbound, warehouse management, safety, and security within the store.
- Make sure inventory control, proper deliveries, and implement the BIN card.
- Make sure to correspond with CNF against yarn import through the commercial team.
- To collect order-wise status from the merchandiser & commercial and hand over to the related executive.
- To keep yarn as per the buyer/style/PO sheet wise.
- Monitor warehouse activities to ensure that yarn is stored correctly and safely, and that organized warehouse space is used efficiently.
- Issue the fabric goods to the subcontracted factory as per the requirements of the planning department.
- Develop and maintain a software-based system for materials delivered to the production floor as per plan.
- Follow and implement the operational strategies and procedures according to the company policy.
- Monitor and maintain store ledger, fixed asset register, as well as software.
- Maintain FIFO/LIFO and smooth operation for yarn received from suppliers, delivery to knitting, and returned products.

- Lead and guide the store personnel to accomplish the assigned/vested task in the best possible way.
- To ensure the goods of the different styles are delivered as per the order of the buyer.
- Ensure daily/weekly stock reports to management.
Dies Chemical Storage Management System in Textile Industry
The textile industry is a chemicals-based industry; mainly chemicals used for wet processing, dyeing, washing, and the garment washing process. There are different types of chemicals needed in the process of different types of textile processing steps. So chemicals play a vital role in the textile industry, especially in wet processing factories. There are dies, chemical store management systems, and also to ensure the best use and maintain SOP. Need to use all necessary PPE (Personal protective equipment) like aprons, footwear, gloves, chemical-resistant glasses, face shields, and respirators during chemical handling.
Wrap up
Yarn and Dies Chemicals are basic raw materials in the textile industry. These items required very intensive care in the storage and handling process. The Storage Management System has to be followed strictly.
