Trim or trimmings in clothing and home decorating is applied ornament, such as gimp, passementerie, ribbon, ruffles, or, as a verb, to apply such ornament. Inspection Method of Trimmings:
Hold the garment in both hands, applying firm pressure around the stitching, ensuring the applique fabric is not pulling away from the stitching. This method can also be used for embroideries. Check inside the garment on the reverse side of the embroidery to ensure the backing paper is removed or cleaned and not harsh to feel. The stitching must be adequately secured and trimmed.

Solution:
- Stitch density must be correct and suitable fusing used to avoid this.
- Ensure correct needles and suitable backing fusing are used.
– Base fabric to be tested for suitability of embroidery. If the fabric is too light/delicate or the embroidery stitching is too dense/heavy needle damage may occur. - Ensure the blade on the thread cutter is sharp and cuts cleanly.
- Where possible remove backing paper without damaging embroidery.
- Lining fabric is to be applied inside the front of the garment to cover the back of the stitching preventing contact with skin.
- Factory to handle the fabric correctly during embroidery sewing.
– Stock to be sorted if necessary - Report and discuss with Q.A. Manager and Buyer whether it is acceptable
