High Quality garments Manufacturing is a very difficult thing. During the manufacturing process, their many defects are generated. Based one defects and quality, garments graded to different levels. Garments can be graded in terms of quality across several levels. These levels help categorize the product based on its construction, material, finishing, and overall presentation. In this article, we are discussing Types of Garments Grades in Terms of Level of Quality. Here are the typical grades of garments in terms of their quality:

In terms of level of quality, buyers classify garments into 3 categories:
- 1st quality or A-grade garments.
- 2nd quality or B- grade garments.
- 3rd quality or C – grade garments.
1st Quality or A-grade garments:
This grade meet everything that a customer need quality from perespective. Apparels which can satisfy the buyers & retain its all quality characteristics & which do not possess any major defect are called 1st quality. 1st quality or A – grade garments look well . They do not possess any major defects during purchase & quality does not decline on wearing.
2nd Quality or B- grade garments:
For completed excess garments resulting from cutting, or garments that fail to meet the requirements of 1st quality garments, they cannot be sent to buyer.
Thses garments though possess some minor defects , retain functional quality & as such saleability to the buyers . They sometimes lose some general good appearance characteristics but do not lose acceptability to the buyers . Some defects not visible from outside may also belong to these garments. Some buyers allow up to 2 main defects in 2nd quality garments , 3 or more major defects turn them into rejects.
3rd quality or C – grade garments:
Apparels possessing major & critical defects making functional quality impaired are 3rd quality garments. These garments are not in demand & as such have no saleability . Any critical & major defects in any important part of a garment turns it into a reject. This garments grade has no use in the market.
