Technical content is only useful if it is correct. When something is wrong, it is fixed.

How to report an error#

Use the contact page and include the page address, what you think is wrong and, if possible, a source or worked example that shows the correct result. You can also use the "Was this useful?" box at the end of each page for short comments.

What happens next#

  1. The report is checked against the relevant source, standard or calculation.
  2. If the page is wrong, it is corrected as soon as practical. Calculation errors in calculators are treated as the highest priority, and a test is added so the same error cannot return.
  3. Where a correction changes a technical conclusion, a formula, a calculated value or a recommendation, the page shows an updated date and, where helpful, a short note describing what changed.
  4. Minor fixes to spelling, grammar or formatting are made without a note.

If the report is not upheld#

If the content is correct as written but the report shows that it was unclear, the explanation is improved. You will receive a reply when you have left a contact address.
