RFT Report

A daily right first time record by line: pieces checked, pieces that passed without any repair, pieces sent for rework and RFT percentage, with an overall total.

What this template does#

The RFT report records how many garments pass inspection the first time, without any repair. For each line and day, you enter the pieces checked and the pieces that passed. The sheet calculates the number sent for rework and the RFT percentage, and gives an overall RFT for the period.

When to use it#

  • Daily, alongside the DHU report.
  • To compare lines and track improvement after quality actions.
  • For other RFT measures (lab dips, samples, inspections), by changing the "line" column to the relevant category.

How to complete it#

  1. Enter the date and line.
  2. Record pieces checked at the first check point.
  3. Record pieces passed first time. A repaired garment that later passes still counts as not right first time.
  4. Add remarks about unusual days: new style, new operators, machine problems.

Reading the results#

  • A falling RFT with steady DHU per defective garment means more garments are affected by the same kinds of defects.
  • A steady RFT with rising DHU means some garments carry many defects.
  • Look at both figures together.

Common mistakes#

  • Counting repaired garments as passed.
  • Mixing check points in one row.
  • Reporting RFT without the volume checked.
